MEXICO — A 28-year-old woman, identified as Abidai López Solís, was found dead in her airplane seat after a four-hour flight from Tijuana to Tapachula, Mexico, leaving fellow passengers and her family devastated.

According to the account provided, López Solís was traveling aboard Volaris Flight 3358 on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. The flight reportedly proceeded without any announced medical emergency, and the aircraft landed as scheduled.

The discovery was made as passengers prepared to leave the plane. While people gathered their belongings and got ready to disembark, fellow travelers noticed that López Solís remained motionless in her seat. When she did not respond, they alerted the flight crew, prompting an urgent response.

Emergency medical personnel boarded the aircraft and examined the woman. However, she was found without vital signs and could not be revived. Authorities were notified, and prosecutors supervised the procedures required to remove her body from the plane.

A Young Woman Returning Home to Chiapas

López Solís had reportedly been working in Tijuana and was traveling back to Chiapas to reunite with relatives. She was originally from Acacoyagua, a municipality in southern Chiapas.

On Thursday, October 8, family members went to the state prosecutor’s office to identify her remains and complete the necessary formalities. Her body was subsequently released to her relatives so it could be transported to her hometown for funeral arrangements.

For her family, the sudden loss was especially painful because she had been making the journey home to see loved ones. Instead of the reunion they had anticipated, relatives were left facing the difficult task of arranging her funeral and coming to terms with her death.

Forensic Findings Point to Cardiorespiratory Arrest

According to a report published by Azteca Chiapas on October 8, preliminary forensic findings indicated that López Solís died from cardiorespiratory arrest, a condition in which the heart and breathing stop. The report said the findings pointed to natural causes.

However, cardiorespiratory arrest describes the final medical event rather than necessarily identifying the underlying reason it occurred. Publicly available reporting has not established whether an underlying health condition or another medical factor contributed to her death.

Authorities have not alleged foul play in the reports reviewed. The circumstances surrounding the exact timing of her death also remain unclear.

Questions Remain After the Tragic Flight

The case has raised questions about how long López Solís had been unresponsive before passengers noticed her and whether she experienced symptoms during the journey. Reports about what occurred onboard have not been entirely consistent, and the precise sequence of events has not been fully established publicly.

The tragedy is a reminder of how unexpectedly a routine journey can end in heartbreak. For López Solís’s family and friends, the focus now is on mourning her loss and laying her to rest in her hometown.

Our heartfelt condolences go to her loved ones during this difficult time.
